A washed black tribute to Joan Sebastian’s larger-than-life jaripeo era. The design layers archival-style portraits of Joan on horseback and with his guitar, surrounded by charging horses, vivid red panels, electric green accents, and his sweeping gold signature.

Printed on a 285 GSM stonewashed oversized tee with heavyweight cotton, a relaxed boxy fit, and a soft worn-in finish. The dense, distressed collage gives it the character of rare vintage tour merchandise while honoring the horseman, songwriter, and performer known throughout Mexico as El Rey del Jaripeo.

Care

Wash cold and inside out with like colours. No bleach, no soaking. Hang dry, iron low. The snow wash is intentionally less colourfast — slight bleeding on the first wash is normal, and the shirt keeps fading with wear.

Joan Sebastian · El Rey del Jaripeo

Before the arena lights and the embroidered jackets, there was José Manuel Figueroa Figueroa, born in Juliantla, Guerrero, in 1951. As a child away at school, he began exploring poetry and music. The village he came from stayed close to his imagination; one of his earliest verses was about its mountains, sunlight and quiet nights.

He considered the priesthood before choosing a life in song. The boy who wrote about home became Joan Sebastian, a name heard far beyond Guerrero. Yet Juliantla remained part of his identity. Behind El Rey del Jaripeo was a writer whose attention kept returning to the people, places and feelings that shaped him.
